          Trygve Magnus Haavelmo was a Norwegian economist and the recipient of the Nobel Prize in Economics.

          He was a prominent economist in the field of his main scientific interests, which were primarily focused on econometrics and economic theory.

          Early Life and Education

          Trygve Magnus Haavelmo was born on December 13, 1911, in Skedsmo, Norway.

          After completing his education at the Oslo Cathedral School, Haavelmo earned a degree in economics from the University of Oslo in 1930. He then secured a position at the Institute of Economics, recommended by Ragnar Frisch, who is credited with the establishment of econometrics as a discipline.

          Haavelmo worked as Frisch's assistant for some time.

          Research and Career

          In 1936, Haavelmo studied statistics at
